LVAFA projects
Administration of Latvian Environmental Protection Fund (LVAFA) and Environmental Investment Fund every year within the common financial framework, support small municipalities in implementation of environmental infrastructure reconstruction projects.
LVAFA provides the donation up to 50% of total expenses of the project, which is a good opportunity for small municipalities to improve the quality of water management and heat supply service and often even to solve urgent problems. In order to apply for project financing, it is obligatory to have technical project accepted in construction board.
In cooperation with LVAFA there have been implemented:
23 projects of water management system reconstruction in small municipalities:
- Umurga municipality
- Limbaži municipality (Ozolaines village)
- Subate city
- Grobiņa municipality
- Preiļu district municipality
- Klintaine municipality
- Rušona municipality
- Code municipality
- Limbaži municipality (Lādezera village)
- Rušona municipality
- Kalsnava municipality
- Aglona municipality
- Mālupe municipality
- Aknīste city
- Sīļukalna municipality
- Pelēči municipality
- Kaive municipality
- Katvari municipality
- Ezere municipality
- Tabore municipality
- Šķaune municipality
- Višķi municipality
- Amata district municipality
3 projects of boiler house reconstruction, usage of biomass instead of coal or heavy oil during heat production in boiler houses:
- Višķu municiplaity
- Pampāļu municipality
- Alūksnes region municipality
Environmental Investment Fund:
- Provides consultations to the representatives of municipalities about the possibilities of financing,
- Supports municipalities during the project implementation, e.g. procurement process and process of reconstruction,
- Performs financial and environmental improvement monitoring of the implemented project during the loan repayment period.
